Eleanor Farjeon (Элинор Фарджон)

When You Say

When you say, I still am young,
You are young no more;
When, I’m old, is on your tongue,
Age is still in store.

Youth and age will never grope
To say what they may be:
One only knows it has a hope,
And one a certainty.

Eleanor Farjeon's other poems:
  1. Sonnets. 9. Love Needs not Two the Render It Complete
  2. Sonnets. 7. When I see two delay their wings at heaven
  3. Pan-Worship
  4. Sonnets. 1. Man Cannot Be a Sophist to His Heart
  5. Vagrant Songs
