Many red devils ran from my heart
And out upon the page,
They were so tiny
The pen could mash them.
And many struggled in the ink.
It was strange
To write in this red muck
Of things from my heart.

1. "Have you ever made a just man?"
2. A little ink more or less!
3. There was set before me a mighty hill
4. I explain the silvered passing of a ship at night
5. I have heard the sunset song of the birches
